In “Time to Move On,” I debunk the seven most common, yet hidden, career myths that can hold individuals back from achieving their professional goals. These myths include the idea that your degree determines your career, that you should only focus on your strengths, that changing your career is risky, that “Jack of all trades is not a master of nothing”, that job hopping is career suicide, that a successful career is a linear process, that salary equals success. By dispelling these myths, I help readers adopt a more realistic and empowering perspective on their careers.

Since the Pandemic, we all heard of a global economic trend called “the Great Resignation” where millions of people around the world left their jobs willingly without any alternatives. The main reasons behind such trends are lack of passion, job dissatisfaction, lack of motivation, suffering high levels of career burnout, and the need of many professionals to reinvent themselves and explore new career challenges. Moreover, it is expected that 1.1 billion jobs would be to be radically transformed by technology in the next decade. Mid-career employees are among the ones likely to be most negatively impacted by this change.
In the light of the above, my book was written to help people to have more control of their careers, work to live and thrive, and reinvent themselves by becoming career shapeshifters.

This book is the result of years of practical experience in successfully pivoting careers from a pharmacist, to a diplomat, to an investment banker, to a business owner, and startup founder. In “Time to Move On”, I share with you all the lessons I learned the hard way during my career journey, so you don’t need to waste your time and life trying to learn these lessons. I have been through all the difficulties and challenges that any one encounters during a career change would go through, and I know how to help you to overcome them.

We’ll explore why life from the other side—as a generalist, a polymath (a person of encyclopedic learning), or a career shapeshifter—is much more interesting. Specialization is fine for bees and ants, but humans were created differently. We need to explore different pursuits and dreams. In the book, I will also show you that the magic happens, but only when you have enough dots to connect across seemingly unrelated careers or domains.
